200 gather for Beaufort’s Pecha Kucha, Volume 1
lallen@beaufortgazette.com
The fiercely promoted Volume 1 of Beaufort’s Pecha Kucha (pe-chak-cha) night finally arrived Thursday in the cavernous Shed in Port Royal. The verdict? A smashing success. More than 200 people showed up to check out the presentations and each other. There was great people watching among a wide swath of Beaufortonians.
The core of the evening was a creative endeavor in which each of 10 presenters had six minutes and 40 seconds to do with what they wanted. The idea was to have 20 slide images, 20 seconds per, going at the same time. For the most part, it went according to plan.
Best presentations:
• The owner of the Yoga Chandra Center for the Healing Arts, Kim Nichols-Cech, had a beautiful presentation that blended dance and yoga. Or maybe it was all yoga. Either way, it was mesmerizing.
